Portrait

I create photography that reveals the authentic person behind the lenses so that the photos are aligned with the story or the brand.

I've lived in many countries, which gives me the opportunity to meet people from all over the world. When I photograph people, I am always inspired by their stories and experiences, by what they read, and the things that inspire them. That's way I decided to share not just portraits, but a glimpse of the things that inspire my clients.

Your favorite websites?
Used to love bloglovin as it was the perfect aggregator for my favorite blogs, but I don't have much time to browse all the blogs anymore! I still love "Dia de Beauté" from Brazilian beauty-expert/columnist Victoria Ceridono, Garance Doré, A Cup of Jo and of course Pinterest! (although one can get a bit carried away there - too much inspiration!)

Your favorite app?
Instagram (keeps me up to date with trends and happenings now that I have a small baby and don't have so much time to browse around like before)!!

Your favorite places in Oslo?
Many! Lucky bird for good southern fried chicken, Munchies for a good burger  (I live in grunerløkka, so many of my favorite places are around there!), Alex for the best sushi in town. The Royal palace's gardens are my favorite to relax after office hours or during the weekend as they are never too crowded nor full of "one-time-grills"

An unforgettable place you’ve travelled?
Itacaré in Brazil

A book you read and learned something?
I love reading! I think every books teaches us something, so I will just mention one of the latest ones I read and really enjoyed: "When breath becomes air" by Paul Kalanithi

Last music you have downloaded?
I don't download anymore - I stream :) But we have been listening to one of my favorite soundtracks from the movie "I am Sam" - especially the song "Two of us" (Beatles cover sang by Amy Mann & Michael Penn)

If you didn't live in Oslo?
Brussels or Switzerland, or even better: Lisbon! (if the economy ever gets better!)

The site that inspires you?
I love the site - doyogawithme.com - i think it is an amazingly generous concept. I used it a lot on first moving to Norway when I didn't know where to go for a good yoga class - it is a great tool too when you are traveling and want to get a great Yoga class.

Your favorite websites?
I love the Irish design site Makers and Brothers - especially the short films that they post about the makers and their craft - the ethos of the site is all aboutthings that are well made and last a life time - made by hands that love what they are doing - this is important to me. I try to remember that as consumers we have a lot of power.

Your favorite app?
I'm happiest away from my phone - so I have to say a morning jog in the Vigelands park.

Your favorite places in Oslo?
Having just moved to the centre of Oslo last May - I'm still getting to know the city -  We are currently living in Fagerborg and I enjoy cycling over the cobbled streets admiring the old Norwegian wooden villas - also the smell of the lilac when in bloom is divine.

An unforgettable place you’ve traveled?
Over 20 years ago - I spent the day climbing in the Las Alpujarras Mountains in the South of Spain to arrive at a very simple Buddhist community living high above the clouds - it was my first time to see prayer flags and Stupa buildings. I immediately loved the place and felt very much at ease - looking back over the past 20 years I see that this journey has influenced me in many ways and is definitely a place that I will not forget.

A book you read and learned something?
Over the holidays I read 'All of the light we cannot see' by Anthony Doerr - it is set during WWII - it made me think a lot about holding on to hope and the courage it takes to be able to do that.

Last music you have downloaded?
Ive just come back from a great family holiday in the West of Ireland - we planned to do a lot of driving - me at the wheel :) and so I made playlists of great 1990's pop classics for my children during the drive - Snap - Rhythm is a Dancer was a definite favorite - for me - I downloaded The Wanderings of the Averer by The Averer it is such a great album to drive to.

If you didn’t live in Oslo?
If I didn't live in Oslo - I would not have learnt all that I have over the past three years - moving to a new culture is a sure way to push yourself out of your comfort zone - so yes although there have been moments of doubt and desire to go back to what is familiar - if I didn't live in Oslo I would not have had this opportunity to grow in the way that I have - so for the moment Oslo is where it is at!

FIORELLA

I was nervous about having my head shots done - I do not usually enjoy getting my photograph taken so before the shoot there was the usual negative self talk going on - but as soon as I walked into the studio with Sonia - the negative voices stopped. Sonia immediately made me feel relaxed and very comfortable within my own skin.

Sonia brings a great enthusiasm to what she does - the joy she takes from making her work soon transferred to me and I quickly realised that this was an opportunity to have some fun.

We played around with some poses, different outfits and light settings - the result being gorgeous photographs for which I have received many compliments, more LinkedIn connections and for myself a feeling of self pride in having a portrait which reflects the person I am.

I 100% recommend working with Sonia
